Wedding Preview Appointment Guidelines
Thank you for choosing Paula J. Fields Beauty. My goal is to provide every bride with a calm, elevated, and collaborative beauty experience. These guidelines are in place to ensure clarity, respect, and realistic expectations while we work together to create your wedding-day look.
Please review the following information carefully prior to your appointment.
Preparing for Makeup Services
Healthy skin is the foundation of beautiful makeup. To achieve the best possible results:
Please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
Refrain from using retinol-based products, chemical peels, aggressive exfoliation, or any method of exfoliation your skin is not already accustomed to within 3–5 days of your appointment
Avoid trying new skincare products in the week leading up to your preview
Hydration and consistent skincare habits greatly impact results
Realistic Skin Finish Expectations
Desired makeup finishes must align with your current skin condition and skincare habits.
If you desire a dewy or radiant finish, the skin must be well-hydrated and supported by consistent skincare. Makeup can enhance glow, but it cannot replace hydration or long-term skin maintenance.
If you desire a matte or soft-matte finish, it is important to understand that compromised skin barriers or overactive oil production may limit how matte the skin can remain throughout wear.
If you desire a dewy finish with naturally oily or unbalanced skin, the result may appear overly shiny rather than luminous, even with professional product selection.
I cannot create new skin.
I can only enhance the beauty of the skin you arrive with.For this reason, openness to professional questions, recommendations, and adjustments is essential in achieving your most realistic and attainable wedding-day look.
Preparing for Hair Services
Hair must be clean, fully dry, and free of heavy products
Wet hair is not permitted unless previously discussed
Hair texture, density, length, and extension use must be disclosed in advance
Inspiration photos are encouraged, with the understanding that styles may be adjusted to suit your hair’s natural characteristics
Preview Appointment Structure & Expectations
Your preview appointment is designed to create one cohesive wedding-day look for hair and/or makeup.
The time allotted for your appointment is fair and intentional
We may finish early; however, time cannot be extended due to indecision
Constantly changing inspiration images during the appointment is not permitted
If you would like to try multiple looks, this must be:
Communicated prior to your appointment
Approved in advance
Subject to additional fees
This appointment is collaborative, focused, and purposeful — not exploratory without direction.
Studio Environment & Attendance
Services take place in a small, private studio environment.
Clients are strongly encouraged to attend alone
One (1) additional guest may attend only with prior approval
No young children are permitted
Absolutely no pets are allowed
These policies help maintain a calm, focused, and safe experience for all.
Communication, Conduct & Respect
Your comfort and satisfaction are important.
Open communication is encouraged throughout your service
If adjustments are needed, concerns must be expressed clearly and respectfully
Disrespectful language, tone, or behavior toward me or my studio will not be tolerated
Mutual respect allows for the best possible experience and results.
Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service
Paula J. Fields Beauty reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for reasons including, but not limited to:
Unreasonable demands
Repeated indecision beyond the scope of the appointment
Threatening, aggressive, or inappropriate behavior
Any form of discrimination
Disrespect toward me, my property, or my studio environment
If services are discontinued due to conduct or policy violations, no refunds will be issued. If necessary, clients may be asked to leave and authorities contacted.
A Final Note
My intention is for every bride to feel cared for, confident, and excited about her wedding-day beauty. These guidelines exist to protect the experience we are creating together — not to limit it.
By confirming, attending, or receiving services, clients acknowledge and agree to these studio guidelines.
